Being Gentle With My Comfort Zone

Growth can take place even as I shift more into my comfort zone

I’ve been reflecting on the term Comfort Zone, and asking myself — why do I keep shying away from working harder at reaching my goals? One of the goals I’ve been trying to reach for the longest time is having a slimmer and fitter body. I know what I need to do, but yet, I can’t seem to be more consistent at doing all these new actions — eating healthier, exercising more, and sleeping better.

It occurred to me that — while I may not be taking new actions, I haven’t been feeling safe and comfortable in my daily life either. How would I have extra energy and time to take new actions if I’m trying to cope with the daily discomfort in my life by actively avoiding it?

How can I stretch out of my comfort zone if I’m not allowing myself to relax deeply into my comfort zone, during my waking hours each day?

Easing more into comfort feels like the gentler solution to me
