Having a Healthy Ego — from the Human Design perspective

The Ego (Will) Center, colored in red in a Human Design Bodygraph

Lately I’ve been learning a lot about the Will Center though my clients.

In Human Design, the Will center (also known as the Ego center) is indicated by this small triangle next to the diamond shape in the center of the chart.

The Will center is the center of willpower energy and is considered a motor. Physically it correlates to the heart, stomach and gallbladder.

When your Will center is colored in Red, it means that you are defined in it and radiate willpower energy consistently to the “outside world”. Only 30% of us are defined in the Will Center.

In its highest expression, you know that you are worthy and you are able to persevere and use willpower energy for a short time. You have a healthy ego.

By knowing your worth it is easy for you to sell products and services you believe in.
You know how to take good care of yourself and when you honour your needs, you have the energy and resources to take care of your tribe’s needs too. Your tribe consists of the people whom are closest to you.

What happens when you are misaligned in your defined Will center?

My clients experienced panic attacks, heart palpitations and poor digestion.

One of them felt unworthy and found this to be connected to not working at a job that’s not in line with his integrity. Another one felt unworthy and that was found to be connected to his concept of his tribe, feeling threatened and unsafe by the people he felt closest to.

Simply having this awareness of what attributed to a low expression of the Will center helped them restore some of the safety they needed to feel. I also did some energetic realignment to realign their energy centers so the past can be released more easily.

The next steps involved are moving towards a job that upholds the same values he stands by, and reframing the definition of what Family means to offer him the warmth and support he needs.

I love incorporating their Human Design charts as a coaching/awareness tool!
