Ten 10-Word Recaps of My Healing Journey Through Dance

Adding a fun twist to the 10-word writing challenge

This morning, I chanced upon Chris Thompson’s article, sharing ten brilliantly written 10-word stories. Chris added a link to the original writing challenge article written by Sheri Jacobs, which I read through, too.

This challenge energized me so much that I started brainstorming for 10-word stories. It was HARD. A new idea came to me — why don’t I find 10-word stories I’ve already written in my published stories about my dance journey? I’ve been publicly journaling about my recent exploration in dance since the start of 2021, with the primary intention of rewriting it into a memoir about Dance. Perhaps, I can find some 10-word stories in those stories!

And so, I did a bit of fun gem-finding while scrolling through my past stories, lightly editing some of the sentences so they could fit the 10-word requirement. It turned out that I could even form a mini-story by rearranging my 10-word stories.
